General Engineering Services for BART Projects Agreement No. 6M8043, Oakland CA

Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BART)

AVA’s Role: Anil Verma Associates, Inc. (AVA) served as the prime consultant for this five-year multidisciplinary General Engineering Services contract. BART began service on its first 28-mile segment in September 1972 and subsequently expanded to 104 miles serving Alameda, San Francisco, San Mateo, and Contra Costa Counties, with further extension toward San Jose in Santa Clara County. As the system approached 40 years of service, continued repair, modernization, and upgrades were required to support system expansion, increased ridership, and aging infrastructure.
