Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit Corridor

AVA’s Role: Anil Verma Associates, Inc. (AVA) prepared the preliminary engineering construction contract documents and served as the owner’s representative for landscape design on this 14-mile bus rapid transit design-build corridor, which links the North Hollywood Metro Rail Station with Warner Center in the San Fernando Valley.

Under an earlier contract, AVA developed conceptual site plans for 75 potential light-rail station sites across five alternative alignments, assessed the visual impact of the stations and connecting segments, identified joint-development opportunities, and prepared station site plans and technical reports.

Designed to allow future conversion to light rail, the corridor was coordinated with architects, engineering consultants, and LACMTA along its full length, in support of the ongoing EIS/EIR process. AVA presented its concepts to community and civic organizations and built consensus around the design, with particular attention to native, drought-tolerant planting. AVA prepared the contract bid documents and provided construction support throughout the design-build phase.

Description: The corridor is a 14-mile dedicated, high-speed busway built along a former railroad alignment. Its 12 stations link the North Hollywood Metro Rail Station with Warner Center, connecting commercial, educational, religious, residential, recreational, and transportation destinations along the way.
