AVA’s Role:  Anil Verma Associates, Inc. (AVA) is contracted by the city of Santa Clarita as a part of team to design a new community park adjacent to the existing Via Princessa Station. AVA is responsible for park architectural design, lighting, and mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering.

Description: The City of Santa Clarita is bringing a new neighborhood park to the Via Princessa community. A key part of this development is upgrade the existing Via Princessa Station along the Antelope Valley Line, formally called the Santa Clarita Line. As part of this project, AVA is providing new restroom facilities (Architectural and MEP), designing a new pedestrian and vehicular crossing, and providing lighting and electrical engineering design for the overall project.  EV Charging stations and new LED lighting is being provided for the existing parking lot. AVA is coordinating with SCE to provide new transformers and abandon the existing power poles and overhead utilities. This project poses some serious challenges during design, construction and testing phases. Design has to be developed with Metrolink operations in mind. Metrolink passengers must have safe and easy access to the current train service daily. This scenario must address demolition, debris removal, material supply, construction and close out issues. The station site should also have access for construction equipment and supply access for trucks and material storage facilities. In short, construction phasing and staging has to be addressed very carefully, with passenger comfort, convenience and safety in mind.
