Client Port of Los Angeles	Project Description The Port of Los Angeles (The Port) is operated by the Harbor Department of the City of Los Angeles, and comprises 43 miles of waterfront and approximately 7,500 acres of lands and water. The marinas have been in existence within the East Basin/Cerritos Channel since the 1940’s and consequently many are in various levels of states of despair. The immediate area surrounding the marinas has become more and more industrialized over the years. Each marina has lease language acknowledging that the leaseholders are aware of this fact. There are approximately 1,700 wet boat slips located in this vicinity. There are land based shelters and other structures along the private boat slip marina that are in need of renovation. AVA is providing structural and mechanical engineering services in support of the current condition evaluation and construction document preparation.
